Springborg concerned by unofficial LNP website

Post  Admin on Tue Aug 12, 2008 12:29 pm

Australian Broadcasting Corporation:

Queensland Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg has tried to distance the party from an unofficial website promoting drugs.

Several web addresses using the Liberal National Party (LNP) name are linked to a discussion forum, with topics including the legalisation of marijuana.

Mr Springborg says he is concerned the site features the party logo, as well as photographs of him and the Deputy Leader Mark McArdle.

"It is a concern and I'll certainly be raising it with the organisation," he said.

"That is policy nonsense to suggest that we'd go there, in actual fact that's the antithesis of what we believe in when it comes to the issue of addressing the scourge of drugs in our community."
